English Language Mastery
This course builds on your existing English language skills, helping you to refine your abilities in listening, speaking, reading, and writing for complex and nuanced everyday and academic purposes.
You’ll learn to:
- Engage in extended discussions and debates on complex topics, using evidence and examples to support your arguments
- Analyze and interpret complex texts, including literary and non-literary materials, to develop your critical thinking and reading skills
- Write extended essays and reports, using a range of styles and formats to convey complex ideas and arguments
- Develop advanced study skills, including research and citation techniques, to support your academic success
- Explore complex issues and topics in Canada, such as social justice, environmental sustainability, and cultural diversity
- Develop a deeper understanding of your rights and responsibilities as a Canadian citizen, and engage in discussions about civic engagement and community involvement
