Jade Hu: Lead Teacher, Ontario Certified Teacher
Jade Hu is our Lead Teacher and a Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) at Sunray Academy of Canada, and holds extensive experience in English as a Second Language (ESL), maths, science, and additional course areas. Jade is passionate about education and holds multiple degrees and certifications to support our learners and ensure instruction is well-planned, individualized academic standards are achieved, and our students feel they are meaningfully engaged with their learning—and with their peers across our global learning ecosystem.Â
In addition to being a licensed member of the Ontario College of Teachers, Jade holds a Master of Teaching, and a Honours Bachelor of Science, both degrees from the University of Toronto. During her undergraduate studies, Jade completed an international internship as an Analytical Research Intern at the University of Miskolc in Hungary, where she conducted qualitative and quantitative research and collaborated with interdisciplinary teams. This experience strengthened her analytical capabilities, cross-cultural communication skills, and commitment to evidence-informed decision-making.
Her interdisciplinary academic background, coupled with strong curriculum expertise, informs a data-driven and strategically minded approach to instruction to ensure students receive personalized, differentiated, and well-supported learning experiences. In her role, Jade delivers both synchronous and asynchronous instruction, course grading, and Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) pathway guidance.Â
Jade approaches her work with precision, care, and thoughtful planning. She excels at creating a sense of community for her students and knows that belonging is central to the student experience: Every individual is welcomed, valued, and empowered to participate fully in their educational experience. Jade utilizes collaboration to strengthen the Sunray Academy of Canada community and ensures she creates safe and inclusive learning environments where diverse perspectives and lived experiences enrich our school culture. With a focus on structure and the highest regard for academic achievement, she thoughtfully moves students from potential to purpose.
